Student Employment Programs

There are two government wide Student Educational Employment Programs (SEEP). They are the Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP) and the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP). The main difference between the two programs is that STEP is solely a temporary employment program whereas the SCEP is an ongoing Cooperative Education Program (Co-op) that may lead to permanent NASA employment.

Prepare To Be Part Of Some Of Our Most Challenging Endeavors...

SCEP is a great way to start your NASA Career while completing your Undergraduate or Graduate educational program. This program gives you an opportunity to combine your academic studies with on-the job training and experience - it's a great opportunity to work on exciting NASA projects, earn money, take advantage of an excellent benefit package and complete your education. The SCEP Program allows students to alternate between periods of academic study with periods of work here at the Langley Research Center.

Specific program requirements for STEP and SCEP employment will be outlined on this website when positions become available and recruitment action is initiated.

Transition to Pathways:

The Pathways Internship Program will soon replace the Student Temporary Employment Program and the Student Career Experience Program when the new regulations become final. When that occurs, current students maintaining eligibility status will be converted to the new Pathways Internship Program and be known as Interns. More information on the Pathways Internship Program will be made available once the new regulations are finalized.
